The brewery on the northern edge of town offers walk-through tours without booking and unfiltered lager straight from the tank. The name Budweiser, which Budvar has disputed with American Anheuser-Busch for over a century, simply means "from Budějovice" — and this is the only place in the world where you need not wonder which of the two beers you will get.
The world's longest brand dispute has run for over a century over one word: Budweiser. What is odd is that the American trademark from 1876 is nineteen years older than the brewery that defends it here.
