The wooden jetty stands above the confluence of the Vltava and Malše, where the town was founded in 1265. Constellations are routed into its handrail. It does not compete with the observatory nearby: one shows stars, the other carries them.
A wooden platform on piles driven into the bed, exactly at the Vltava–Malše confluence — where the town began in 1265. The railing looks ordinary but twenty-four constellations are routed into the handrail. At night it lights, but only downward and inward, so as not to disturb the observatory a few steps away.

- Walk the jetty to the tip above the water. From there you see the confluence from above.
- Look down at the top of the railing, not through it. That is where the constellations are.
- Compare the two rivers. At the confluence the difference is visible in width, colour and flow.
- Best after dark when the handrail is lit.
