The oldest brewery in town — brewing since 1795, a century before Budvar. Tours run year-round but only by prior booking. Worth knowing: for over a century this older brewery was not allowed to use its own historic name — Budweiser Bürgerbräu had claimed it for the younger one.

- The Samson fountain on the square — walk to it and look at the strongman with the lion. The brewery is named after him. It is perhaps the only place in Budějovice where you can see the origin of the brand without going to the brewery.
