The pond below Boubín is today one legal way to reach the edge of the Boubín primeval forest — a marked path leads to the dam while Knížecí cesta remains closed to visitors.
Boubínské jezírko is not just water but above all entry into the strong forest atmosphere below Boubín. NP administration gives marked access from Na Kaplici car park via Idina Pila to the dam. Since June 2023 you can again look towards Boubín primeval forest from the pond area, but some paths stay closed for protection and safety.
