The largest glacial lake on Šumava has one of the most accessible lake routes from Špičácké sedlo — about 3.5 km one way on asphalt — and you can continue on a harder loop to Čertovo jezero.
Černé jezero is the largest of the Czech Šumava glacial lakes. The simplest access is from Špičácké sedlo on the yellow trail; the regional tourist site gives about 3.5 km one way on asphalt. Among the big Šumava lakes it is one of the most walkable. With Čertovo jezero the character changes: the connecting ridge is steeper, stony and not suitable for prams.
