Forest ruin four kilometres south of Kaplice is free year-round; from a small parking place on road I/3 it is under a kilometre on foot — a quieter counterpart to wilder Sokolčí.
Louzek stands on a rocky headland above the mouth of Zdíkovský potok into the Malše; remains of tower, palace, rampart and moat survive. No ticket office or visitor service: South Bohemian tourism lists it as free year-round. A specialist ruin site gives small parking on I/3 and access on yellow marks; another source estimates under a kilometre on foot. A place for people who read castle structure in the forest, not guests expecting a groomed courtyard.

- In the site look mainly for palace and tower fragments, moat and rampart — the forest hides much structure.
- Without leaves, terrain relics are often clearer.
