Ruin high above Lipno is only about 400 m on foot from free parking and from the tower opens a view over the dam towards the Alps — an easy goal that mainly pays off in clear weather.
Vítkův hrádek stands at 1,035 m and the operator calls it the highest preserved castle ruin in the Czech Republic. From parking it is about 400 m on a gravel forest path with ~42 m ascent — no full mountain day needed. The site is accessible outside opening hours but the paid section and viewing tower only in season. The reward is view over Lipno, Šumava and in good conditions the Alps.

- If the paid section is open, climb the lookout — panorama over Lipno is the main reason to come.
- On a clear day do not settle for a quick photo; the view opens in several directions.
